HE MADE IT!!!

estoy agui en Comodoro! Spent two full days traveling! flew to LA. Then to Georgia which i thought made no sense but it did.  The 3 hour flight from LA to Atlanta i talked to this older women for 2 hours about the church and everything we believed in.  She was on her way to Brazil for a spiritual experience and she had so many questions.  I gave her a pamphlet and a pass along card with my email and hers as well.  I only had a spanish Book of Mormon so that sucked. We then flew to Buenos Aires and ate empanadas.  SO GOOD!!!!!!!! Then flew down to Comodoro!!! It is sooooooo beautiful! Exactly like the pictures! About 70 degrees maybe more.  Love you guys!

February 19, 2014, WEEK #5

como estan!? how is everyone!!!!?I LEAVE MONDAY!!!!!!!
not much happened this week. except i got my travel plans!! bitter sweet. visa is not going too hot so i'll be in LA for a while.  I'm actually way excited because of how diverse it is there but a little bummed at the same time.  I leave at 4:30 in the morning on monday. so i'll definitely be calling at around 6 or 6:30 or 7... ya not quite sure maybe 7:30! just be ready!! i am so excited to leave here! The MTC has been great but i want to talk to real people and have a relationship with members and investigators.  oh mom! the raspberries and strawberries were AMAZING!!!!! thank you so much!!!! and all the packages! nothing better than chips and cheese!  Tell Christine thank you so much for the packages and thank Christine for Lauren's letters! gets me so excited to get out there!
I'll share a little experience we had this week. So Elder Olsen wakes up to work out at 6:15. and every morning he wakes me up at 6:30.  I'm not down to wake up even earlier than we already have to so i work out at night.  So monday morning the same routine is in effect.  Elder Olsen gets up, does his this for a while, then wakes me up.  But i was honestly so tired! Legit the first time i've debated on not showering in the morning just to get a few more minutes of sleep.  After about 10 minutes of fighting with myself on whether to fall back asleep or not i finally decide to get up.  Usually i don't even look at my watch i just jump in the shower but i was just curious to see how long i was debating on getting up. I looked at the minute hand on the 45 and was like "k sick" then i saw something weird....the stinkin hour hand is at the 1... My companions alarm got all screwed up because it automatically changed time zones and he was working out at 1:15 in the morning!!!!!! He has two digital clocks and didn't even realize it!!!!!! I was so mad but at the same time grateful that i was able to sleep for a few more hours but mostly mad because he thought it was hilarious.  Sometimes he kills me!  He really does mean well so i try to always be positive and nice but at 1:30 in the morning it's just not going to happen haha.
Elder Holland came on Sunday to introduce his son who was speaking to us.  Bittersweet because it was AMAZING that Elder Holland was there but sucked because he only spoke for 5 minutes and that counted as the apostles turn to speak so i never really heard one of them talk other than 5 minutes.  But his son gave an amazing talk about Joseph Smith and his life and all the many afflictions he had to go through in his life! I had know idea how much he had to go through!!!!
I truly love this gospel and everything that it involves.  I have come to have a testimony of the Book of Mormon.  My favorite part of the day is personal study when i can spend that hour and just read!! Something that i heard last week was very profound when thinking about how to back up the great apostacy and the validity of the Book of Mormon.  It was from Ted R. Callister of the 70 and he said.. "Why would the Bible just all of a sudden stop at the same time as the Great Apostacy started.  If the church were still on the earth than the Bible would have continued.  Another thing he said was that during the Great Apostacy when there were countless other false churches not one went by the name of Christ! that just blows my mind!!!!
The zone is doing a lot better. less homesickness and more focus for all those elders we're over so that's awesome!
The Spanish is coming along phenomenal.  I can understand so much and i can speak it pretty well now.  I'm so pumped to get that Argentine accent!!! Elder Olsen and I are one of the only missionaries here left going to Argentina.  The rest are going to Mexico so definitely already have that Argentine pride:) i can't wait for Monday!!!!! oh ya i was just kidding about the LA thing. Well kinda..I have a forty minute layover in LA and then they're shipping me straight to Buenas Aires.  And I'm praying they fly me to Comodoro Rividavia or else that will be one looooooong bus ride!
LES AMO MUCHO!!!!!
estoy emocionado por esto oportunidad a servir y llegar a ser un hombre mejor!! VIVA ARGENTINA
Much Love,

Elder Lamb

Volleyball crew.  Best part of West MTC. Crazy athletic elders here and some hermanas as well!

A picture of Elder Olsen and I and our favorite teacher Hermano Mendoza! eternally grateful for all that he has taught me!

Some of the elders thought it would be funny to leave some toilet paper in our apartment so we made sure we destroyed theirs.  We put toilet paper in their pockets and shoes and everything!!! led to an eventful night haha - extremely fun:)

February 24, 2014

We had the opportunity to talk to Brockton on the phone very early this morning before he boarded his first plane for a LONG day of traveling.  His flights will take him from SLC to Los Angeles to Atlanta and finally to Buenos Aires where he has about a 24 hour bus ride to Comodoro Rividavia.

It was WONDERFUL to talk to him!!  He is so excited to be on his way so he can begin serving the people of Argentina.

We can hardly wait to hear he made it safe and sound.

WEEK #4

que pasa mi familia!:)  well this week has been one to remember in the MTC.  We received 12 new elders and 4 new sisters to our zone.  And let me tell you...i've never seen so many weak minds!! haha all the sisters are great and are learning so much!! But the elders... i mean you're allowed to be homesick but these guys are taking it to the extremes!  So they came in last week on Wednesday and we're moping around and feeling bad for themselves so saturday night i called everyone to come over to our apartment.  We had 20 elders in our apartment and i wanted to hear why every single missionary came on a mission.  It was AMAZING!! one of the elders was an atheist!! he was at his house one night and he could hear something in the other room.  It was his brother.  His brother had been denied to go on a mission because some choices but his testimony was strong and he was praying that his brother would not fall in his footsteps.  He was pleading with the Lord that his brother would go on a mission.  So this elder heard his brother praying for him and instantly he was converted.  Read the Book of Mormon and got his life on track to serve a mission.  Another Elder said.. "honestly i'm just here for my girlfriend"  and i was just like alright.. well good luck with that.  After every single person shared their conversion story and why they were on their missions i shared mine.  I talked about everything and i felt like i needed to!  I also talked about my first week and how Reegan was in the hospital and how hard that was.  But being mentally weak is just not an option!!  I told them to write in their journals that night what they shared and use that for strength!  The spirit was so strong and it's crazy how much i love these new missionaries and it's crazy how much they look up to me.  When they were leaving our apartment Elder ?, this red haired football player from Dixie, pulled me aside and asked if we could talk.  He graduated early and is supposed to be a senior right now.  He hasn't gone a day without his family so he was struggling big time.  He told me that right before the meeting he wrote home to his girlfriend and his parents saying that he couldn't do it and he wanted to go home! He said my testimony changed everything and he has no desire to go home anymore.  He is now like a little brother but Gunner is 10000000 times tighter than this homie.  He legit won't leave my hip! haha

Spiritual thoughts of the week:
I have a strong testimony now of being a man of action! it's not enough to have a testimony.  Only relying on your testimony will lead to inactivity.  I need to show my works.  I need to be converted unto the Lord! I have shared D&C 18:10 a lot to investigators here and then just recently i was thinking to myself.. How? How could the worth of every soul be great in the eyes of the Lord? There are so many evil people out there.  Then it just hit me.  It's because he SERVED EVERYONE!!! You will develop a love for those you serve and when he suffered the greatest act of service heavenly possibly i can see now how he loves EVERYONE!! I am so beyond grateful for that act of unconditional love and service.  I want to devote my life to service and always helping others in some way.  So dad,  i am sorry for any time i complained about helping someone move or mowing the lawn or anything!!! I have definitely repented of that and only want to serve!
I want some ties though!! My old ones! especially paisleys!!! Por favor!!:) i guess i don't need my glove anymore.  An elder that just left for Mexico pitched for Weber and might go to UVU when he gets back and we did a whole infield outfield with a tennis ball one day.  Haha i sure do miss it.
Oh my goodness i almost forgot the most terrible experience this week.  So on Sunday we went to lunch in between meetings and it was pouring outside! Of course i'm wearing my Cole Haans and my blue suit and favorite tie because it's sunday.  Well we had like 5 minutes to get to the meeting and i didn't want to get wet so i started running to class.  So i'm racing through a little sidewalk path that has a mud hill on both sides.  I turn a corner and two hermanas (the cutest 2 not that i'm looking) took up the whole path.  I tried to run up the side of the hill to pass them but of course my shoes have ZERO traction so i went tumblin! I should have just stood up but i treated it like i dove for a ball in baseball and rolled out of it! Without missing a step i just took off for the apartment to change! i jumped every fence i could and took off towards my apartment! changed within like a minute and i was on time to the next meeting in my grey suit.  Took the blue one to get dry cleaned today.  haha it was so embarrassing.  Everyone thought i did it on purpose because of how fast everything happened!
Send me pictures!!!!!:):)
love you all!! tell me how your week has been!!
Can't wait to get to the field!!

February 5, 2013, WEEK #3

como estan??? This week has flown by!! not to much happened.  Half our zone left on Monday which sucked.  The big samoan and the lineman and the other elder really took us in and were so nice to us! Elder Maluia gave us a lava lava to remember him!! He really is the nicest person i know.  Every day i think gosh.. i wish i was in the field already and then I go to class and learn so much!! So i also realized I'm probably going to die in Argentina.  It's gonna be sooooooooo cold!!!! But i am so excited because of how unique a mission it is.
Part of the day we go and talk to members who volunteer to come and hear a message.  They might be struggling with a testimony on a principle or are just having a bad day and want to talk.  We talked with this native from Venezuela.  She was so nice! she moved here four years ago to go to school and raise her daughter here.  She was struggling financially and her daughter is pretty crazy. She was converted when she moved here but she's starting to lose hope.  I showed her the Galatians 5 scripture and talked about how we can't go through this life alone.  She also misses her family in Venezuela.  It was such an amazing experience.  I just comforted her and reassured her with the blessings God has promised us as long as we stay strong and endure to the end.  We ended up talking for an hour and she left a review with us.. She was so sweet and shared in the review how we completely answered her prayers and gave her the courage to endure to the end.  I LOVE SERVING!!!

I'm emailing earlier today because we get 16 new missionaries in our zone today. Oh ya. I was made a zone leader last week! It was sweet! A lot more responsibility but super chill.  We have to show the new kids the ropes. I'm way excited!! There are 12 new elders and 4 sisters.
Oh i saw Wilson at the devotional last night! Looks the exact same from when he was 12 haha. He's a big boy! super nice!!!!! He's loving it already!

My spanish keeps improving.  Now I'm able to understand just about everything for the most part. Miss you all and pray every hour for your safety and peace and happiness.  Feel free to write me!!
