May 18, 2015- TEMPLO EN CÓRDOBA

Holy cow I can't believe all that crazy stuff with the cement trucks and the power lines went down after I talked to you guys! I'm so glad everything is alright! That's fine Reegan's room doesn't have power... hopefully her phone dies and she can't charge it.. haha

YOU WENT TO AN ALAN JACKSON CONCERT!! and you say it like it's a small thing! I would do anything to go to one of his concerts..don't tell me he sang Chattahoochee?! or Country Boy? Livin on Love?  any of his old stuff??

So about 3 months ago my old companion and I were contacting and we talked to this 14 yr old outside his house.. he told us he used to be a member and he knows all the youth in the branch.. my comp and I were stunned.. we started talking to him and asking him why they stopped going to church when his mom came out of the house and started talking to us.. she told us she knows exactly what we're doing and that she herself served a mission and the only reason she came out of the house was to save her son and bring him inside. Our jaws dropped and immediately we questioned what had happened.  She told us her husband as well served a mission but now they were going to an Evangelist church...It felt like I got hit in the gut by one of Willis`s monster swings...

I couldn't believe that a couple where both the husband and wife served missions..were sealed in the temple...magnified their callings in the church..and then in their 40`s left the church completely.  We tried talking to her and tried to help her realize what she was missing. She didn't want any of it..

The couple got offended because the husband was sick and nobody from the branch came to visit them so they starting going to a different church.  I remember leaving the house that day over 3 months ago with tears in my eyes.. I had never seen something like that. It was extremely sad. Well two weeks ago that same lady passed away from cancer. That sadness that hit me when I was talking to her hit me 1000 times harder when I found out she passed away because we never went back to try and change her heart.  To at least offer them the chance of returning.

Yesterday we went over to the husbands house with some members from the branch and taught him about our Savior. I told him directly that there's not anyone that can have compassion for what him and his family are going through. Then we shared with him Alma 7: 11-12 and about how Jesus Christ was going to come to the world to take upon himself the sins, pains, and sicknesses of the world so that he would know how to succor his people.  He did it all for us.. So that we would NEVER have to be alone.. he knows exactly how we feel and He conquered the death.. He conquered the pains and sufferings and through Him we know that we can too if we put our trust in Him.  He is the only one that can fell compassion! The husband wants to return to the church and he told us he never forgot the truth the he found and shared as a missionary.  Pray for Rogelio Sosa!!

On a happier note the temple of Córdoba Argentina was dedicated yesterday and we were able to watch it in our church building.  There are now 2 temples in Argentina and it makes me want a temple here in the Patagonis soooooooooooooooooooo bad!!!!!!!!! These people need the blessings of sealing their families together forever!!! President Uchtdorf did the dedications and was accompanied by our boy Elder D Todd Christofferson as well as the area 70. The culture part on Saturday was sooo cool! Argentina really does have an awesome culture!!

Everything is amazing!! We're thinking that I probably only have 2 more weeks here in Puerto Madryn so we're trying to just go so hard right now finding and teaching! Thank you for the prayers and support! Have a great week and be grateful for Mcds and Taco Bell!!

This week has been super fast and not too much went on that I can think of.

I'm so grateful for this area and all the members in this branch.. they treat us like angels and it's almost overwhelming!  We have lunches everyday with members and the majority of the days we have family home evenings at night with a ton of investigators and bomb dinner!!  Literally want to stay here in Puerto Madryn the rest of my mission!

Niko came to church again this past week and is progressing so much.. we  have really become best friends and it'll be hard leaving him..he's 18 and is hopefully going to be baptized this week! he has a desire to serve a mission so we're going to town trying to help him change his life.. he impresses me every time he shares his testimony of the church and is already inviting his cousins and family to come and experience thie blessings of the gospel! So amazing!

Have a great week and never stop progressing and trying to be more like our Savior!!

May 4, 2015- Novel Status (warning) :)

So the weeks are literally flying by...kinda scarin me...another amazing week!

I don't really know what to say... other than I am just so grateful for this opportunity to serve.. I am seriously meeting some of the greatest and most faithful people in the world.. This week I had one of those moments where it just really hit me that I would have to say goodbye to these people some day.. and for a couple people in specific I had to say goodbye early.

Rosa, (literally other than the fam the person I love more than anyone on this earth) moved back to northern Argentina this past friday.. She has a ton of messed up kids with big time problems that she has to try and fix.  Rosa Nelida Corales has forever changed my life.  She came to Puerto Madryn just to visit her son and have an escape of all her problems back where she's from with all her kids that are in their teens and twenties that are not making one good decision.  Her son Pable Leon bought her a bus ticket to come here... She saw the difference in a family that has the gospel and one that doesn't have anything close to it.  She was curious and wanted to have this gospel in her life.. She made a 180 degree change in her life and submitted to the will of our Father in Heaven.  She has taught me so much about how to truly trust in the Lord and think about the bigger picture.  She was baptized and received the Holy Ghost.. She understood the power of the Holy Ghost and understood the importance of the covenant she made with our Father.  She wanted her two youngest daughters to take part of this eternal life changing decision and bought two tickets for her daughters to come to Puerto Madryn as well.  Her daughters instantly felt the impressions and callings of the spirit and also made the decision to be baptized last week with their amazing mother helping every step of the way.

Rosa's other kids are struggling very badly in their lives and on Friday Rosa and one of her daughters that was here traveled with a one way ticket back to their home in northern Argentina. The truth is they don't even have a home anymore..one of her sons out of drug use and his off mental state burnt her house down with everything in it. Rosa is only grateful.  She doesn't have anything anymore material wise.. but she told me she's leaving with something far greater of value than anything she has ever had..more than her house,, her documents.. her pictures.. furniture.. everything.. she left with the Holy Ghost.. the constant companionship of someone that can help her in every circumstance possible.. the feeling that things will work out.. she wrote me an amazing letter before she left and I am certain that she will remain faithfull forever..

My companion and I were the only ones at the terminal saying goodbye to Rosa and her daughter Maria.. Just thinking about when they finally stepped on the bus and waving to them in the window with tears in my eyes gives me chills.. Maria buried her head in her moms arms bawling not wanting to leave.. Rosa knew that if she put her trust in the Lord and now with the conmpanionship of the Holy Ghost anything is possible.. she is going to save her family.

I have been so beyond blessed in my life and I only want that others can feel the same joy and satisfaction that I have knowing that families are eternal.. knowing that we have a Savior that paid the price for all of us..that suffered so that we would not have to suffer alone. Alma 7:11-12   Jesus can have compassion for every single person that has and will ever live..

I can feel sympathy for many people.. like Reegan.. I would do ANYTHING so that she would not have to have shots and that she would not have diabetes.. I would take that pain from her..I hate that I can't take upon myself the burden.. but that's how life is.

I can't have compassion because I don't have diabetes.. I have never felt that pain... but Jesus Christ does.. He is the only person that can have compassion for all of us.  He took upon himself all the sins, pains, and sicknesses of everyone so that He would know how to comfort us and help us.. only through Him will we receive rest.. peace... happiness. When we say that we are never alone..literally it's true.. Jesus Christ knows EXACTLY how we feel.  Go to him:)

Thank you for everything!! Your prayers are felt!
Love you all!

April 27, 2015- FLIA LEON!!!

I can't believe it's already monday!! What an amazing week!!! The work is moving forward here in the branch and I'm soooooo grateful to be a part of it.

So remember the amazing Rosa who was baptized a little over a month ago..? Well we had been teaching her two daughters Maria and Nancy who are 14 and 15 years of age.  I LOVE TEACHING!!  These young women truly understood the covenant they were about to make and being able to teach with Rosa helping us was ideal!  As well as the whole Leon Family.  Pablo, Rosa`s son, now has 3 more members of his family that entered through the door of salvation.

Rosa is now teaching the gospel principles class every week! She has only been a member for a month!! She's SO AMAZING!!!

The group of teenage boys all showed up to church yesterday with shirt and tie!! These boys are changing their lives!!!!!!!!!!!! They stopped drinking....they stopped smoking...they even stopped cussing!!!!!!!! The gospel changes lives!!! I hope one day my faith can be as great as Rosa's or of these amazing young men.  They boys have there baptismal date set for the 9 of may

The missionaries in our little branch are doing amazing! Combined we have 15 baptismal dates for this coming month!! That's the most in the whole mission and it's all because of the members and their willingness work with us!  I LOVE THIS AREA!! I think I only have 5 more weeks here and I'm trying to take advantage of every second before I leave.  It's going to be so hard to leave such amazing people!

Keep going to the temple...Read the scriptures... Do a family home evening:):)
Imma keep living the dream:) Thank you for all the support and prayers:)

April 20, 2015- Los PIVES de la RAMA

Fam bam wazam...whats good?

First of all huge shout out to the G Man for getting the perm in the back!!!! so sick!! This has been another amazing week... :) so remember the pic I sent last week with all the teenage boys and us? well 4 of them c
ame to church yesterday and have a date to be baptized!!! and it's all because one of the youth in the branch asked his friend if he wanted to come to church!  these kids are 16 and 17 years old and they don't have any support in their houses but they wake up early on Sundays so that they can learn more about the love God has for them! That's insane! I try to put myself in their shoes and I'd like to be able to say that I'd do the same when I was 16 if I didn't know the church but I don't know! So much respect for these homies!

We are still teaching the daughters of the amazing Rosa who we just baptized and they are literally fighting over who gets to be baptized first! they have their baptismal service this week:):):):)

The other elders in the branch had a baptism this past week.  Jeremias was baptized.  He's 16 years old and he was invited to church by his friend from school sebastian.  He loved it and the first day he went to church they were trying to figure out what youth were going to enroll in seminary.. Jeremias raised his hand and wanted to go! He has been waking up at 5:30 every day to go to seminary even before he was baptized!! SUCH A STUD!! and yesterday he received the Holy Ghost and the priesthood....The Lord knows we need more priesthood in the branch and he has blessed this area incredibly!! We had 8 investigators come to church yesterday and a few less active families! And guess what?? Transfers are today and I'm staying another transfer!!!!!!!!!!!:):)

I've never been so happy and it's all because i can see the children of our Heavenly Father changing and rockognizing that they need Him in their lives just as much as I need him in my life.

LOVE YOU ALL!!!!
Have a great week and make someones day:)
