November 2, 2015 - NOOOOSLEEEPPPPP

NOOSLEEEPPPP

This was the letter i thought i sent last week.. turns out it got stuck as a draft!

Soooo this week we had leadership council.  I was able to talk about lessons.. but what Ive realized is that a lot of the missionaries don't really know how to teach that well according to the peoples needs..  All of them teach and explain very well  but when it comes to really helping these people we have all decided that we can do better..

I have been thinking a lot about how I could help them in this area and I realized its by really listening to the people and helping and teaching them according to their need.  Also, to find the need we have to ask questions.. I talked about the power of testifying and how important it is for us as missionaries to not only testify but to explain the process of how we have come to have our testimonies.. the people here don't know our background and the majority think we were born with a testimony and everyone has a process.. no matter the circumstance.. I talked a lot about how can we as missionaries teach in a way so that these people feel that they need the gospel in their lives... to feel that they need to get baptized.. and I thought about it and we have to help them gain an eternal perspective.. if they can gain that eternal perspective they will have that click in their brains and realize that they NEED the gospel in their lives...that they NEED the atonement in their lives!

I am so grateful for that click! I am so grateful for an eternal perspective that influences all my choices!

I still LOVE the mission!!! I still want to be a better missionary and disciple!

October 26, 2015 - Pablo..pero que capo!!!

Pablo..pero que capo!!!

Whats goooood fam?? So it hasn't been too long since I last wrote ya so I'll keep this one short..I think!

First of all..took the truck to get an oil change here..ya know I'm thinking it might be 50 bucks so like 500 pesos.. psyche! 2300 pesos... 230 dollars for an oil change.. haha I couldn't believe it!!  but the owner was so nice and they always go there but its just soooo expensive here! everything!

Anyways...  President gave us the challenge to read the new testament before Christmas and I can't put my bible down.. I started a few days ago in Acts and finished last night and all I can say is that Paul is my idle!!  He is so courageous and bold.  So willing to suffer in the name of his Lord.  He was saved on the road to Damascus and after his desire was that everyone could take part of the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ and use it in their lives.  One part I loved is found in Romans 3.. This chapter Paul is explaining the judgement day and how God is going to judge us.  He talks about those who live the letter of the law but with bad intentions and those who don't even know the law but naturally live it and about how they will stand better before God than those who think they live it but don't have their heart in it.  It also talks about those who know the path to follow but don't do anything to follow.

It says in verse 13.. "For not the hearers of the law are just before God but the DOERS of the law shall be justified."  As members we know the path to follow.  We have the answers to the test of life and salvation.  What a blessing it is to have this knowledge; that is, if we take advantage of it. But if we're not doing the things we need to do to progress we are putting ourselves in jeopardy.

I love Paul´s example of someone who is truly converted.  Someone who is "not ashamed of the gospel of Christ." For it truly is the "power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth."

Don't be afraid to share the gospel..don't be afraid to do the right thing. I aspire to have Paul's courage and testimony to share this wonderful gospel that saves lives. I know that God lives. I know that He sent His son to pay the price so that we now have the grand blessing of being able to use the word "hope" in our lives in these days. Thank you fam for your support.. your prayers are felt.

October 22, 2015 - Socorrer a los de su pueblo!!!

Socorrer a los de su pueblo!!!

This has been this busiest week ever!!!

Sorry for not writing!  We went from Comodoro to Rio Gallegos to Rio Grande to Toulhuin to Ushuaia back to Rio Gallegos and now heading back to Comodoro today...all that in a week and 2 days!!

So awesome being able to see my families back in Rio Grande!!!!! That's where I started and to be able to go back and visit the families that really made me feel like family right when I came to the mission was very special for me!  I wanted to see around 15 families and they were ALL home!!! and I didn't tell anyone I was coming so it was just a big surprise! haha

Some tears were definitely shed this past week!  I can not describe the happiness level I had when I saw these amazing families that took me in!!! I can't even imagine what it'll be like when I see you guys again after 2 years!!

I have had the opportunity to sit individually with every companionship in the mission and see how they teach.  It has been the most amazing experience! My main focus is to get the missionaries to really teach the people and not just teach lessons.  The way we can do that is by asking questions to really find their need.  So while I'm with every companionship we do a practice. I say I am Mateo.. I love my wife and kids and I recently moved across the country because of work.  What the missionaries have to do is find my need.. They have to ask questions and gain my trust so that I'll open up.  I would love to talk more about this but I don't have much time so remind me about it when I get home! Bottom line is that my "need" is that Mateo doesn´t understand why bad things happen to good people.. referring to his little daughter who was diagnosed with diabetes two years ago and for that reason they had to move to be able to buy all the insulin and treatments.  But the only way the missionaries can help me is if they find my need!

The practice story is super close to home and some of these missionaries are killing me with the spirit.. they are making me think about why bad things happen to good people who don't deserve it in a way that I have never thought and I want to share them with you guys when I get home! After we finish the practice we talk about what they did good and what they could have done better and then I thank them and show them a picture of Reegan and mom.  The little family and girl in the practice was our fam and Reegan and I will NEVER forget this experience!  Remind me to tell y'all when I get home!!!

I am FOREVER grateful for our savior Jesus Christ.  Not just because he came and redeemed us from our sins but because he came and suffered for our pains and sicknesses and every trial that we will ever go through... He also overcome death which gives us ALL hope of a brighter future.  Trials are but a measure of time...but after this life we have FOREVER to live in a perfect state of happiness and peace:)

Thank you for everything!!! Ill send more pics when I get to Comodoro!!!

October 6, 2015 -No sleep till New Years!!!!

No sleep till New Years!!!!

Hows everyone doing!!!??

This week has been so insane!!! I LOVE CONFERENCE!!I Elder Hollans talk killed me mom! YOU ARE THE GREATEST!!!!!!!! Without you i would not be anywhere near La Patagonia!

I can't believe how busy the days are!

I had to say goodbye to 4 of my past companions this morning (Elder Garcia, Elder Nelson, Elder Caceres, Elder Scogin) as they left to their homes to be reunited with their families.. I am forever in debt to my companions and all that they have done for me and have taught me!

The past few days Elder Franco and I have been running on 3 hours of sleep and we have another group of newbies coming tomorrow morning at 2:30 AM!! then we have to train'em then get them shipped off then we start interviews the next day!! I will send pics tomorrow! Had a couple minutes to write but forget the camera!

Today a new group came in that have 2 weeks in the mission because of the mission straight from the MTC! It was crazy.. the plane that brought the newbies took the missionaries that were ending their missions home.

I am so busy but it is so rewarding being able to work with all these amazing missionaries and to see the desire that they have to work.  It was amazing to hear the testimonies of those that have completed their two years and to see the changes that they have made and to witness how their testimony of the atonement and the restoration has forever changed their lives and the lives of those that they have been able to teach!

I truly LOVE being a missionary..such a good excuse to change peoples lives and to change mine:)  I know that I have a Father in Heaven that loves me and the random stranger in the street the same and wants both of us to return to live with Him.. I just have to give that stranger a reminder of lessons he had already learned before he came to this earth:)
Love you all! THANK YOU for the prayers!!

Reminder..i'll send pics tomorrow!:)

2nd: in the airport sending off one of my favorite comps Elder Cáceres...He is the biggest STUD ever! It was cool because President gave allowed him to go home 3 days early so that he would be able to be with his brother for a couple days because his brother got his call the same day that he was supposed to get back so they wouldn't have been able to see each other for 4 years!

September 28, 2015; CONFERENCE WEEK EVE!!!!!!

CONFERENCE WEEK EVE!!!!!!!!!

T minus 5 more days till conference!!!!!! LESSSSSSSGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

This week has been pretty cray cray... our area in dead middle of central here in Comodoro and there are over 150 names on the member list but only 40 go to church!  This week we took the members list with all the directions and started visiting all the families. Well it was awful.  We had addresses for businesses, clinics, little shops, banks, basically everything except a house that lived a family.  We ended up finding a man that lived behind a retail store in a tiny old house and he was so excited to see missionaries!  It had been years since the missionaries passed and we came in justo! LOVE finding new families!!

I was also blessed to do the interview for another baptismal for an 11 year old in the ward.  It is amazing to see kids with so much knowledge of the gospel and are able to develop their own testimony it.  He brought his whole family and cousins to the baptism and a lot are inactive and now they have said they all want to return.  One of the couples that only the husband is a member told me that he now wants to get married and his girlfriend wants to get baptized!  All because of this young man that was able to gain a testimony of the restoration of the church of Jesus Christ.  He is changing his life and the life of his family and future generations!! It really doesn't matter how old you are or your situation.. you can ALWAYS be an example and a light that shines in the darkness that others will follow.  just huge s/o to Mateo!

This week is gonna be crazy.. we have zone leader council tomorrow then transfers on Monday and some of my best friends are leaving which is sad but awesome to see them finish strong.

President also has a new assignment for me and it looks like I won't be ending my mission as smoothly as I had hoped.. He called me and Elder Franco to be the new assistants for him and the mission.  We did all the transfers yesterday and Saturday and we start traveling next week..first stop Ushuaia!

I am BEYOND excited to be able to see my families in Rio Grande, Puerto Madryn, and Rio Gallegos again! Not excited to be back in the office at all but excited to pump up the mission and have more animo for the work here in the Patagonia.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support! They are all felt!!!!!!

INVITE SOMEONE TO HEAR THE VOICE OF A LIVING PROPHET!!! how lucky are we to live at this time in history!

Jesus Christ already came and paid the price for us and every person in that chose His plan! Don't let that act of love go in vain.

Con cariño,

GLORIA

What's goooood!!!!!   2 more weeks till General Conference!!! INVITE SOMEONE!!! Literally, I'm too excited!

This week was awesome!!! We had english classes and this girl we contacted on the street came and loved it! She's super evangelic and is not looking to change her religion....yet:)  The deal was though if she came to our church we would go to hers... haha so yesterday at 6 in the afternoon we made our way to the Evangelist Church and wow.......something I will never forget.. I'll tell you more about it when I'm home but just a lot of yelling, singing and good ol praisin goin on!! During the meeting i couldnt help but feel so sad for all the people in there because they have SO much faith.. some great people with amazing faith! And I know that if they just read the Book of Mormon they would be toooo happy!

We found a new family this week FINALLY ha ha which was amazing! Teaching the restoration is my favorite thing in the world!

There was a baptism in the other ward and I was blessed to be able to do the interview which is also my favorite thing in the world.  To ask them why they want to be baptized and hear their responses has strengthened my testimony.

The man (Fernando) was who was just baptized left the water with the biggest smile on his face! We are in the true church:)

Still on the grind!!!!!!!!!!!
Love y'all love this gospel:)

September 14, 2014: NUEVO TESTAMENTO!!

NUEVO TESTAMENTO

Whatsss good???  How was camping fam??  Gunner's a senior!!!!!!!!!  That kinda just hit me right now!!  Reegan's a sophomore!!!!!!!  Can't tell you which one is weirder to think about....so crazy!!

Well we're still here trying to spread the good word in the middle of this crazy city.  On Thursday we went to Sarmiento.  It's this little town two hours away from Comodoro and there are 2 missionaries there that are doing work.  We wanted to help them out so we went up and spent the whole day going to town!!  The difference between the people in a little town compared to a big city is incredible.  Of course there are amazing people everywhere but just something about the small town life makes people so much nicer and receptive.

Last night we were contacting around cento then we see about 10 police officers looking like swat all decked out head to toe in black armour heading in our direction.  Then we looked across the street and 15 more policemen all decked out on beautiful huge horses were blocking a street.  Next street 15 more with riot shields and tazers.  haha  All because Boca and River played last night and of course Boca won and the people were going crazy!!! Nothing out of hand.. just some good celebrating and a lot of noise and we had to wait for our bus right by it so it was fun to see the devotion these people have for the game.

On a spiritual note.. President Rogers gave us the challenge to read the New Testament completely before Christmas.. Every time I read about the life of Christ it really helps me put my priorities in check.  It makes me think about how great his love for us really was and is to take upon himself the pains and sins of the world.  I finished the book of Lucas last night and I read a part that left me thinking. It was about when they crucified Jesus as well as the thieves.

One of the thieves pleads to Jesus.. "If thou be Christ save thyself and us." Then the other thief tells the other that they deserve the punishment that they were receiving.  At that moment the latter thief recognized his sins and recognized that his salvation was in jeopardy so what does he do next..he calls out to Christ.. "Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom."  Jesus had recently paid for this mans sins and pains and was willing to accept this humble plea of forgiveness with the words.."i say unto thee, to day shalt thou be with me in paradise."

The atonement is sooooo real!! Humility is so essential! Change is so encouraged! "We can change without growing but we cannot grow without changing."  Use the atonement...do not let His act of love go in vain!

I love this gospel and I love all ya`ll back home!!
Con amor,
Elder Lamb

September 7, 2015 -Hermana Ojeda!!!!

Hermana Ojeda!!!!

Alright lets get a little back up story.. I was serving here in Comodoro a year ago for my birthday and this amazing hermana that was sick with cancer made me a cake.  She treated me like a son and loved being able to serve and was so grateful to be able to make my birthday special! That was a year ago....

So a week before my birthday I just got to Comodoro "again" and I was in the terminal getting my bags and stuff loaded in a taxi..and guess who just so happened to walk by and see me! This same hermana Ojeda! We were both freaking out and I was so excited to see her! She said she was just looking at photos from the year before just as I showed up! She told me to come by on Monday because she was going to make another cake.  I went over there and she put me in tears!  She took time out of her day to make mine special!

I would do anything for these people here! I LOVE to serve and I can't describe how amazing it is to have people here that care.  This hermana went above and beyond and I will eternally be grateful.. She was so happy she was able to be a part for BOTH of my birthdays here in the mish and goodnight.. she's the best!! I am so beyond blessed and am eternally in debt to these amazing people here!!

pics.. this is a pic of me with Hermana Ojeda and her son chino!

Fam bam!!!! What is happenin! You better not get burnt out from camping so much because thats definitely something I want to do just about every weekend when I get home!

This week has been amazing! Last sunday we had lunch with the most amazing family! Family Jerez! They have 5 kids and the parents of the dad are visiting them from northern Argentina. They are soooooooooo dope! Honestly we hit it off de una and we were laughing and sharing stories together and they invited us to come over the next day yo have Family Home Evening with them!

So after Pday we went over there and my comp secretely let them know it was my birthday and they went all out with the cake and pizza and gosh dang it was so dope.  I didn't tell anyone it was my birthday thinking it was going to go lo key and i was just excited to be with this family but they went above and beyond to make it awesome. The grandparents are heading back to the north today in an hour so we are going to say goodbye soon. The people I have met here have changed my life forever!! I am so grateful to meet them!

The grandma of flia Jerez taught us how to make pizzas!! :)

August 31, 2015 - Capilla Abierta!!:)

Capilla Abierta!!:)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!!!! I hope you guys go get some good grub for dads bday!!

So I'm back in Comodoro but this time I'm in the heart of Centro.. Which means we contact sooooo much but teaching... not too much because we basically just contact people that live in everyone elses areas.

We were able to do an Open Church activity Saturday night which was a huge success! We got together with the stake here and set up a "come and see what Mormons do" type of deal Saturday.  It was amazing! Every room had set up a different organization of the church and we had Meet the Mormons running in the cultural hall.  About 30 missionaries along with ward members and youth were in the streets inviting everyone to come! It was a lot of fun and 3 people left with a baptismal date and dozens left us with their address to come and visit.  It's crazy how much more productive the work is when the members and missionaries work together!

Other than that total tranquil out here.  I now live in whats called the Casa Grande which is the biggest pension in the mission which you'd think would be dope but it just means so many random homeys always pass through and leave a mess ha but its fun seeing all the brand new missionaries and the ones that are on their way home because they all stay in our pension coming and going through comodoro.

Love ya'll!! Pray for family Abregu from Puerto Madryn..going through a hard time and they need your prayers!

Ill send pics in a sec!

leavin Gallegos:(

but lookey here... in Comodoro we have Hermana Lock who is the neighbor of the Aubreys!! S/o to small world!:)
also met a man today in his 70´s who travels for the church doing medical stuff and he told us about how when he was a 14 year old investigator there was an elder that would always take him on splits... that elder was Elder Christofferson and Richard G Scott was the mission president who was there to great him when he came out of the baptismal font!  So crazy!!

August 24, 2015 -OTRA VEZ A COMODORO!

OTRA VEZ A COMODORO!

My time in Rio Gallegos has come to an end... :(

I feel like i just got here but I look back and its been 3 months!  I am heading back to Comodoro tonight... I'll be working in the middle of the city with Elder Vicharra. He's a stud from Peru so it'll be so sick!

I'm really sad to be leaving Gallegos.. I really do love these people and all the missionaries here..we´ve come together as a family and everyone has been working so hard!!  Some of the elders on the other side of the city baptized a young couple this past week and I had the privilage of doing the interview.  The spirit was so strong.  I interviewed Carola.. the wife and she was so ready start her life over as a disciple of Jesus Christ. She has been through so much and she sincerely believes that through Jesus Christ she can be perfected through His atonement.

As far as all of our investigators its like pulling teeth trying to get them to church!! We were able to find some more amazing people but as soon as you say we have church at 10 in the morning they just laugh and say they'll be sleeping... WAKE UP!!! We went by 3 families houses sunday morning to bring them to church and all lights off sleeping for all 3... come on now....

Yesterday we celebrated the birthday of Romero! The recent convert of the Hermanas in our branch and he is such a stud! Did a 180 on his life.. comes every week EARLY to church and is the only one that studies the classes throughout the week.  He doesn´t have much family here and is in his mid 40´s and said this was the first time he has celebrated his birthday since he was little.  We had a DOPE asado!! I will miss the Argentine asado...so much!

THANK YOU so much mom for the package!! It came here and the birthday stuff was PERFECT for Romero.. ha I'll have a week in a new area for my birthday so ya..itll be low key which is chill!  And I was 10 times more happy we could do something cool for Romero!

I love ya'll so much!!!

S/o to Gunner for do missionary work at home! I wish I did more before!! Way to be an example! Such a stud!!

#BOMBACHASyBOINAS

Whatssss goood yalll??

So this week was another crazy one.. We had our monthly consejo in Comodoro on Tuesday so Monday night we left on the bus at 8:00 and got to Comodoro at 8:00 the next morning.. the meeting starts at 8:30 and after the meeting we ball out with the hoodrats that are always playing on the church soccer field in the parking lot.. then at 9 at night that same tuesday we headed back to Rio Gallegos and got home at 9 Wednesday morning.

We had the other zone leaders from the zones down south stay with us all Wed because they dont have a bus leaving to the island till Thursday.. but it's sick because my boy Elder Nelson was able to stay with us an extra day!  Then Friday was our zone conference so my comp and I were up till the early hours Friday morning preparing for the conference with our zone.  Saturday we did service all day then Sunday night and yesterday we had interviews with President.. To sum it all up... We didn't have too much time to work in our area:(

Of course the Big Man upstairs is hearing our prayers and isn't going to shorten others out of blessings and we were able to have 8 investigators in our branch on Sunday!!!

We went Sunday morning to pick up our buddy Brian and when we got to his house he asked us if his friend and cousin and sister could come to church as well!! Uhh YAAA!! Big Brian already inviting others... such a stud! We walked in to church with all these homies and the branch embraced them and everyone talked to them! So awesome! And the parents of Carolina came!!! They have their date for the 22 of August! Just pray that they will be ready!!!

I am so grateful to be here. I love what I do:):)

Thank yall for everything!!!!

August 3, 2015 - #EQUATIONFORSALVATION:)

Wowskies.... just a huge s/o to Rio Gallegos this week!  The people here are sooo different than other places.
Just so you can understand how big our mission is... In the southern part of our mission in Ushuaia there`s 10 feet of snow and is crazy cold..and in the northern most part where i was in Puerto Madryn it is 80 degrees with a breeze!!
Where we are at is just bitter cold and alwaaaaays wet!

I actually am so grateful for this crappy weather though because I was thinking and...cold = people indoors = really warm houses = small houses = families are always close together (physically and figuratively) = a lot of food = happy people = they feel bad for homies outside = we come to their door shivering = they let us in = message = we do our part = they do their part = the Lord does His part = salvation.. :)

There really is not a better feeling than coming home at the end of the day after entering into the houses of people that didn't even know we existed before we knocked on their door..

We met a 14 year old stud named Brian who is an amazing soccer player that is so interested in what we share. We talked to the whole family and they asked us a thousand questions about the US and how we could ever give up our lives for 2 years to come to Rio Gallegos, Argentina.  Brian came with us to Sports Night where he showed up a ton of 20 year olds in soccer.

The greatest thing about being a missionary is that all we do is invite.. We can promise people that they will receive an answer to their prayers.  We can invite them to find out for themselves if the things we teach are true.. It's also a humbling experience because I know how much the gospel will bless their lives but when they don't act I feel like I'm failing.. That`s the key to the whole Plan.. Every person has the ability to choose and their happiness in this life and the life to come are direct consequences of the choices they make now.
So might as well choose to be happy right??:) WE HAVE THE CHOICE!!

Still happy and excited to work and to share the good word!

Love all yall!

July 27, 2015 - #CUPCAKESSSS

Fam bam... whats good?
This week was another great week out here in the mud and the rain!

My comp and I were pumped that we didn't have to do too much stuff other than workin in our area.. We met some AMAZING people this week.  We walked to the back of our area that's touching the coast and contacted for days! If I've learned one thing out here it's saying what the people want to hear in order to get in a house!

Miracle!! So it was so cold and we were contacting in the back of our area here where its completely dark and we saw this nicer cement house.. We clapped outside of the house and of course this dog was barkin at our heels.. it's always awkward trying to talk to someone.. them wondering why the heck two gringos are at their house and all this time a dog barking like crazy.. usually when this happens they shake their head and shut the door... but this man told us to come in as soon as he opened the door.  My comp and I looked at each other and he asked me.. "is he talking about us or the dog?" haha - we hesitated then the man looked at us this time and told us to come in.

We went in and we met an amazing young family with two young children. It was even the husband's birthday and the wife made him cupcakes!! She made legit cupcakes!!!  With frosting!!  and she gave us two!!!  We were freaking out!!  We got to know them and we set another lesson for today! So excited!!

We also were able to meet with Carolina who is a recent convert.  She is an ony child and her parents are super supportive of her decision to be baptized.  The parents have a Book of Mormon and the mom has the Gospel Principles book.. well she has been reading the Gospel Principles book and she loves it.. She read the section of honestly and put what she learned to practice and resolved problems that she had with her neighbors!  Our lesson yesterday was amazing! We were able to testify of the restoration and put the pieces together of the doubts that they had.  They were so happy to hear that we have a prophet today that has his 12 apostles that hold the keys of the Church of Jesus Christ, the same that He established when He came to this world!!  We put a goal for them to be baptized the 22 of August!
the people are prepared...and if we don't talk with everyone we are taking away the answers to someones prayers...

SHARE this gospel! Give a Book of Mormon to a friend or neighbor! "Make someones day" - Big Dan

I LOVE RIO GALLEGOS!!!

I LOVE sharing the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

Thank you for your prayers and support.. they are felt!!!
Con amor,

July 20, 2015 -#justkeepSMILING

Whats good ya`ll.. this week has been crazyyyy! Transfers were last week and all the homies that were crossing the border between Chile and Argentina down at the southern point had to pass by us.  This meant that we soent soooo much time in the terminal waiting for the missionaries to arrive and leave.  Then we had to do a bunch of legal paperwork for those that were illegal and that meant we were just sitting in the bank for forever!

The cool part is that there are so many foreigners that are headed to see the glacier so we were able to talk to people from all over the world.  This German dude kept dropping the f word just talking and me and my comp were shocked, its been a minute since we've heard that one.  We have a lot of dope homies in our zone now and this week we have so many plans to do WORK in our area.  Que se manejen the other missionaries for a little bit.

Even though we had a crazy week not being able to work in our area much I had a really cool experience.  Yesterday morning we had the opportunity to help this sister missionary buy her ticket and everything to head to Ushuaia at the end of the world.  So we were at the terminal and there was a line of people awaiting to get on the bus. There was a lady that was in line and was staring at me hard.. being the only red head its a given that people always stare..always!!  But she kept staring.. then I thought she might have been a lady that worked at this ice cream place in Comodoro.

After a couple minutes I said hi and asked if she worked in Comodoro.. She said no and that she was from Rio Grande.. RIO GRANDE!! Thats where I was born!!! She said she remembered me from over a year ago.. She was walking on the street and we passed her and I said with a big smile "Hola buen día!"  She told me that she didn't respond and that she thought about that a lot.  Just that a random person would smile and greet someone that they didn't know.  She thanked me for saying hi to her OVER A YEAR AGO!!!

I was left so impressed by the effect of a simple smile and a greeting can do.   I love being a missioary but what I love even more is being a desciple of Christ!! The little things matter! Greeeting someone with a smile doesn`t cost anything!! Sure the majority of the people don't respond and act like they didn't hear anything but thats not our choice! We do have the choice to atleast try to make a difference:)

Still livin the life!!!

July 13, 2015 - #C'mooooon

Whats good... legit have no time.. but this week has been cray cray.. so my dime piece chilean comp Elder Caceres got called to be the new assistant so he bounced on me a few days before the transfer ended so he just left me to deal with all of transfers alone! haha

Where I'm at is Rio Gallegos and you have to go through chile so I'm on the grind right now trying to get all the missionaries that are getting transfered tickets and making them legal... stinks because I feel like I already did my time as secretary and now I have to do some of the same stuff.. this week is gonna be crazy but then it will be amazing again.

Before Elder Caceres left the sisters wanted us to pass by a house that they had contacted a while ago.. we passed and the homie wasnt there.. so we decided to contact there neighbor.. we clapped.. this teenage girl opened the door..looked back at her parents.. and before we could even say anything they told us to come in!  The air or something must be different in Gallegos or something because the people are soooo nice!!

And guess what.. we start chatting and they have 2 boys and 2 girls in their family in the same order as our family and they also have an another daughter (who is the oldest) that died a little over a year ago... Ive been waiting for this family!!!

We let them know that we had answers to some of the questions that they had and that we would love to share with them the plan that God has for every single one of His children.. They listened!!  After teaching them and sharing about Harding and our family the spirit was so strong.. The parents eyes were tearing.. We are able to teach something so eternally important.. SO IMPORTANT..

We shared with them that they will see their daughter again if they are willing to follow Christ.  They found hope.. they found the path.. now we get to help them get there.. they accepted a baptismal date for the middle of august and I just already love them!! They let us right in... they are so prepared for the gospel!!!

So our investigator Gisella came to church yesterday!! We woke her right up clapping our butts off yesterday morning infront of her house.. she loved church!!! she learned a ton and is excited for next week and told me to note down her baptismal date after church.. the only thing is that she lives with her boyfriend and she doesn`t want to marry him because honestly he`s a pretty big tool but we gonna try and fix that!!

My boys here in the mish are going home tomorrow and it's so weird!!! I was able to get a lot of advice from them and I will make my last 6 months my best 6 months ever!!!!! My boy Elder Scogin is my new comp from Washington and we are going to have too much fun!! He's hilarious and such a hard worker so weez about to do work!!

Love you allllllllllll!!!

July 6, 2015 - CELINE DION

Nothing better than a canadian singing God Bless America huge s/o to Celine Dion for making our 4th of July even that much more special!
This week was a lot of craziness traveling.. learning..teaching..and observing.

My comp and I were on a bus for 40 hours this week and ya...I'm gonna go back to the states and the 12 hour trip from Utah to AZ is gonna seem like CAKE. haha so much traveling.

We had the 4th and not gonna lie... my comp was probably tired of hearing about the rodeo and the family and camping and the food and the music and just everything the has to deal with the 4th back home.  Probably the hardest day to miss but we did what we could.. pulled out a rusty barbecue looking thing and cooked up some burgers and doggers and listened to the star spangle banner and wore red white and blue.

I am loving Gallegos. It's not the best smelling city becuase the city workers are on strike (shocker) and nobody is picking up the trash so it just piles up in the streets and the weather is bitter cold but the people are AMAZING!!  It's a branch but it has about 70 people attend every week so its growing!!!

Love you all... pound some Mcdonalds for ya boy down here.

June 29, 2015 -GLACIAR/ #BIRDWHISPERER

Wowskies..... just best week of my life!! I seem to have had a ton of those on the mish.

So this week we still had to run around everywhere because half our zone is super sick but we really wanted to work hard and talk with everyone!  The people are so amazing here in Rio Gallegos... I don't know if it's because they like what they here when we knock on their door and they let us in or it's just because they feel bad for two homies shaking outside their house but we entered into 8 new houses this week.  Every day this week we went out thinking we were going to contact for hours every day but this first couple doors we knocked every day let us right in and listened to us and every day someone different accepted a baptismal date! (also NEVER happens). These people are so prepared!!  There are 2 experiences that were beyond amazing for me.

The first was Orlando.. We just knocked on a random house and this man answered the door and all we did was introduce ourslves and he asked if we would like to come in...(that NEVER happens).  So we talked about his likes and his background and eventually taught him the Restoration.  We asked him if he had ever prayed before and he said no.. so we taught him how to pray and asked him if he could give the closing prayer. Teaching people how to pray is very common but for some reason the spirit was so strongg this time and during his prayer it hit me hard that this humble argentine man that recently moved to this city, being about 40 years old, was talking to his Father in Heaven for the first time in his life.  It was a small moment of heaven.. This man said the most sincere prayer I have ever heard all in about 45 seconds.

Then sunday night we were walking and one of our citas fell so we were going to contact for the 1 hour and a half till we had to start heading home.  The second door we contacted let us right in and the house just reaked of marijuana and tobacco.  It was a young hippie couple that had Bob Marley all over the walls with abstract weird drawings and a weed movie posters on the wall.  My comp and I looked at each other and just thought what the heck did we just walk into. We talked about a ton of stuff from family to tobacco to politics to that good kush.   They thought it was crazy I came from the states and asked us our purpose in coming here..BOOM.. we started teaching and chatting. They are both extremely inteligent and were taking it very seriously.  We set up the apostocy so well and they were asking so many questions.. to the point where the husband said.. "well, I was baptized catholic and no one gave them the authority to baptize..I want to be baptized by someone like John the Baptist who has the authority the same way Jesus was.. how can I do that!?" BEST QUESTION EVER!!  We taught them the restoration and they are sooo game! They marked on their week calendar the time of church on Sunday and are excited to prepare to be baptized the 1 of august. Word of Wisdom is gonna be a fun lesson but I honestly think they will love it because they know smokings bad but they don't have a reason to stop. Weez about to hit them up with one though!!

Yesterday we went to see the largest glacier on EARTH! haha it doesn't sound that amazing... like a huge piece of ice.. but it was unreal!!  Seeing it.. you just can't deny that there is a God!!  We had a lot of fun.. it's a 5 hour drive away which seems like nothing now because of how big our mish is but the bus we rented for the 16 missionaries here kept dying so we all got our and pushed started it about 5 times, it was great.  HUGE tourist place so it was cool to find some people from San Diego there. Weird to have the little get to know you convos in english...haha super weird actually.  We drank some glacier water and had an amazing time and got back late last night.

In an hour my comp and I are headed to Comodoro for a meeting tomorrow so it'll be anoth 12 hour bus ride there and 12 coming back tomorrow night.. fun stuff.. :)

Goodnight I wrote a lot but I had such an amazing week!  There are so many people waiting to hear that the church has been restored and that we have a prophet today! Thank you for all the support! Love you all!
